In response to rising mental health concerns, the Canadian government has launched a nationwide mental health program aimed at providing free therapy sessions and digital mental wellness resources to citizens.
According to a report from the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), over 42% of Canadians reported experiencing high levels of stress and anxiety in 2024, with youth and young adults being the most affected. The new MindWell Canada initiative will provide free virtual therapy sessions, mental health workshops, and AI-powered wellness chatbots to assist individuals in crisis.
📌 Health Minister Patricia King stated, “Mental health is just as important as physical health. This program ensures every Canadian has access to the support they need.”
Experts believe this initiative could reduce the burden on hospitals and increase mental health accessibility for underserved communities.
